“The allegations against the University of Notre Dame in the complaint are unfounded,” Browne explained in a statement to the South Bend Tribune. “As are gratuitous and unfounded references to ‘student athletes’ — an allegation that is nothing more than a cynical attempt to attract publicity.”

Hurant looked relatively at ease for a man who, along with six other Rentboy employees, was recently charged with conspiracy to promote prostitution across interstate lines. He immediately said that he couldn’t talk about the case, which is still open, but explained that the sale was part of a fundraising effort to cover approximately $250,000 in legal fees. A crowdfunding site had already raised around $10,000 by Monday, and the office liquidation sale was designed to beef up the legal fund.

“Nobody responded on Craigslist,” said Hurant. “It was supposed to just be low key and quiet. I didn’t think I would make it into a party, and I wasn’t sure that the world wanted our ephemera. What I discovered is that people are just coming in and wanting a piece of history.”

According to The Ledger,the Sheriff’s Office detectives obtained a search warrant for Velez-Gonzalez’s phone and found that he viewed a male pornography website, later revealed to be Adam4Adam, 384 times between Sept. 30 and Oct. 13 — an average of about 27 times each day. According to the report, at least two visits occurred during school hours. Bookmarks for eleven other dating and gay porn sites were also reported to have been found,

Deputies said on October 28, multiple students reported seeing adult male pornography on his cell phone. Velez-Gonzalez was allegedly viewing the porn images while students came to his desk to ask questions.

“She looks down and there’s this pornography in plain view for the world to see,” Sheriff Grady Judd said.

One student even recorded video of what she saw on the teacher’s iPhone, investigators said.

“It’s like, are you kidding me? You showed this pornography to ninth-grade children,” Judd said. “This teacher, Gonzalez, actually exposed the children to pornographic sex acts, and now we’ve exposed him to the county jail.”

During a search of Velez-Gonzalez’s phone, deputies found that he had visited the website adam4adam.com more than 350 times since September 30. Two of those times were during school hours, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Velez-Gonzalez was arrested and charged with four counts of showing obscene material to a minor, and four counts of using a two-way communication device to commit a felony. The school district has placed him on administrative leave. ~Fox5 Atlanta
